Local Business Spotlight: Ashley Furniture
We love celebrating the businesses that shape the Driftless area, both big and small. And one of the biggest, quite literally, is Ashley Furniture. Headquartered right in Arcadia, Wisconsin, this global furniture powerhouse has over 1,000 retail locations across the world. Pretty cool that a company of this scale calls the Driftless region home.
I had the chance to visit Arcadia this past week, and while I knew Ashley Furniture dominated the landscape there, I stumbled upon something unexpected—the Ashley Pub & Restaurant, located right inside their massive showroom. Who knew? I sure didn’t, so I made time to check it out.
To get to the restaurant, you actually walk through the furniture showroom, making for a unique experience. Once inside, the pub has a surprisingly cozy, small-town feel. The menu offers a full range of food and drinks, and the atmosphere is relaxed, feeling like a local gathering spot rather than part of a global corporation. It was a pleasant surprise, blending small-town charm with the scale of a worldwide brand.
For those unfamiliar, Ashley Furniture is deeply woven into the fabric of Arcadia. The company was founded in 1945 and has grown into the largest furniture manufacturer in the world. Their presence is more than just business—Ashley has had a major impact on the local economy, employing thousands in the area. Arcadia itself is known for its picturesque setting along the Trempealeau River, as well as the annual Arcadia Broiler-Dairy Days festival, a community tradition celebrating the area’s agricultural roots.
